School tours
An interactive excursion for students of all ages, tailored to curriculum outcomes.
Educational tours
Experience one of Victoria’s largest cultural attractions with an engaging and educational excursion for school groups of all ages.
Located in Bendigo, the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion is the largest Buddhist stupa in the Western world. Students will enjoy a guided educational tour led by a friendly and knowledgeable guide, exploring culture, history, architecture, and interfaith understanding in an inspiring setting.
The tour begins in the Visitor Centre with a short introductory film about the history and significance of the Great Stupa. Students will then explore the Peace Park, where they will discover installations representing Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish, Catholic and Baháʼà traditions, learning about the importance of interfaith harmony and respect.
Inside the magnificent Great Stupa temple, students will learn about Buddhist culture, symbolism, architecture and art, with opportunities to ask questions and engage in discussion throughout the visit.
Tours support a range of curriculum outcomes and provide valuable opportunities to develop intercultural understanding, ethical awareness and humanities-based learning. Programs can be tailored to suit specific year levels, curriculum requirements and learning objectives.

Teacher testimonials
We experienced a meditation which was amazing and we really appreciate how hands on and interactive our experience was. We have students in our class who are not Catholic and they were excited to share their faith with us. Thank you!
St Mary’s Primary School Hay
The group thoroughly enjoyed the tour and I was pleased to hear that they were very forthcoming with their questions and really soaked up as much information as they could.

…we want the students to experience traditions and knowledge of Buddhism and see it as an example of how the Buddhist community has been accepted into the wider Australian society.
